The pre-production phase of the documentary based on the story of Roman Zancarli has begun.

Filming will take place in some locations in the Veneto region by the end of the year.

 

The film production company Rea Film has acquired the exclusive rights to film and television exploitation for the production of the documentary film “Roman” (working title), centered on the life of Roman Zancarli. The film is directed by Davide Lo Bue while the editing will be handled by editor Gerardo Lamberti. The documentary film “Roman” is produced by Rea Film in association with Davide Lo Bue and distributed in 2025. The executive production is entrusted to Nicolas Morganti Patrignani and Gerardo Lamberti.

 

Roman Zancarli is a 26-year-old boy who has chosen to live in a decidedly unusual way: after going through a period of severe depression, Roman felt the need to drop everything and start from scratch, in search of a new balance. For over two years, his home has been a 2001 Ford Focus which, in addition to being his means of exploring the world and his office, has become a symbol of freedom and rebirth.

This is where he reads, writes, and dreams. This is where he learned to know himself better, to forgive past mistakes, and to look to the future with optimism. Thanks to social media, Roman has built a community of over 200,000 followers who follow him on his adventures. On YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, he shares his daily life, his travels, his advice, and his reflections. His story has inspired many people, demonstrating that it is possible to live an alternative and happy life, even with limited means.

 

Inspired by a true story, the documentary film will explore his life in depth, from his turbulent childhood marked by his parents' abandonment, to his current itinerant existence. Roman's story is a hymn to resilience, the desire to live and the ability to reinvent oneself. It is the story of a man who, despite the difficulties and his inner demons, found the strength to rewrite his destiny, one chapter at a time.
